TM Smith’s Opposites

I’ve recently read a few dystopian stories and have enjoyed the genre so far. Opposites by TM Smith is definitely not a YA dystopian series. There is romance involved with a variety of gender combinations. I was able to interview TM and we talked about some fun things. Read all about the book along with an excerpt that will leave you smiling. Amanda C. Stone: Good morning TM! I’m so glad you could join me today. You are a super hero! What’s your super hero name and secret talent?
TM: Smith: Oh my god, this is really hard! Wonder Woman and Super Girl are already taken. You know, I really have no idea. I absolutely love super hero stories, seen all the movies, even read some of the comic books, but I’ve never thought about being one. Quick, ask me something else! 🙂
ACS: Ok, fast! If you could be famous/infamous for one thing, what would you choose?
TMS: I would love for my story to be told in a broader spectrum, much like Erin Brokovich or J.K. Rowlings Harry Potter. With more books being made to movies, and more LGBTQ stories translated to TV and movies in a positive light every year, a girl can dream of possibilities, right?!
ACS: I would love to see some of the fabulous LGBT fiction and romance made into movies and television shows. You’re going to a naughty costume party, what do you go as?
TMS: Something like a renaissance era trollop. I’m completely fascinated with that time and culture. And who wouldn’t want to be the girl Tom Cruise drained then stuffed in a coffin?
ACS: Mmm, Tom Cruise circa Interview With A Vampire… Sorry, where was I? Oh yes. Do you have a library card and know where it is?
TMS: I do not. I live in a smaller town and, sadly, we don’t have a library. I’d have to drive to one of the larger cities and use their library. Thankfully, there is the world wide web and amazon fuels the flames of my kindle!
ACS: Oh my gosh, no library?! I don’t think I’d survive without one. Last question! There is magically 25 hours in a day. What would you do with the extra hour?
TMS: Write! I do not get enough time to write, that is why I only put out a couple stories a year. So if I had more hours in the night, more days in the week, I would spend them spinning tales.

In the year 2081 our planet survived global warming of an apocalyptic scale. Excerpt:
Standing outside the door to the room Kaden barely occupied, Aiyan placed his hands on either side of him planting him against the wall. He stared at Kaden for several moments before he smiled, and kissed him. Kaden pulled back and shot a warning glare at him.

“You should go.” Kaden whispered breathlessly. “Goodnight Aiyan.”

Aiyan grinned that crooked smile and planted a kiss on his neck and whispered, “Go where, here?” He moved up and nipped Kaden’s ear lobe with his teeth. “Or here?” he asked. Kaden was beginning to slide down the wall as his legs turned to jelly.

Aiyan stood back laughing, his eyes glistened and he smiled. “Goodnight Kaden, I love you.” Placing a quick peck on his lips, he turned to go.

“And I you.” Kaden said and closed the door behind him before sinking to the floor, no longer able to support himself. He ran the tips of his fingers across his still tingling lips, and smiled.

A military brat born and raised at Ft. Benning Georgia; Smith is an avid reader, reviewer and writer. She now calls Texas home from her small town on the outskirts of the DFW Metroplex.
