Amanda C. Stone: Good morning Jude! It’s wonderful having you here today.
Jude Sierra: Thank you! It’s great to be here.
ACS: You are a super hero! What’s your super hero name and secret talent?
JS: Dame Decisive! Yes, I’m a devastatingly sexy and intelligent super hero with the ability to help make decisions easily without waffling or crippling indecision.
ACS: Oh wow! No waffling?! How great would that be!
JS: That would be awesome, wouldn’t it? I can’t make decisions to save my life.
ACS: Me either. I usually just give up and make my husband decide everything. There is magically 25 hours in a day. What would you do with the extra hour?
JS: Read. I am a voracious reader; there’s nothing like getting lost in another person’s make-believe world. With little kids and my own job and school and writing, reading is often the thing that gets pushed aside. There are so many amazing books in the world waiting to be read, and never enough time!
ACS: A whole hour just for reading, love it! If you could be famous/infamous for one thing, what would you choose?
JS: Oh god this is hard. Fame has always been a terrifying concept for me; I’ve never wanted to be famous or infamous! Not even for writing. I’d love to be successful enough to live off of it, in a dream world. But more, I want the people who do read my work – poetry or prose – to enjoy it, or to be moved by it. I’ve never wanted to be the next Stephen King or Nora Roberts or anything though. I don’t like that kind of attention and I always thought with that much attention the reasons why I write and how I write would change in ways that would no longer feel like a gift. Really, the thought of being famous makes me feel itchy! Although if you all want to build me a shrine posthumously…I could totally rock some afterlife fame.
ACS: We shall bow to your greatness! Later. Who would you want to have as a stripper at your birthday party?
JS: You mean if I managed not to die from second hand embarrassment? My best friend and I have a “save me from strippers” pact that’s been in action for 17 years now. However, we never thought to build in a Matt Bomer or Natalie Dormer clause. For either of them, I’d be willing to break quite a few pacts. Also, they’d have to clear out the room. I don’t think I could handle strippers AND people watching me enjoy them.
ACS: Gotta say Matt Bomer would break pacts for pretty much anyone. But that’s just my opinionFinal question! If you could travel anywhere all expenses paid where would you go? Name one thing you’d see or do there.
JS: I would go to Australia. I have always wanted to travel the world, and there are so many places and things I’d love to see. But an all expenses paid trip? There’s a lot of beautiful things to see In Australia. And friends! I have several friends who live in Aus, and it would be a dream to get to see them.
ACS: Oh man! I’d love to go to Australia too. If your bag magically is over the weight limit I’m totally NOT hiding there. What would you do there?
JS: As for the one thing….how can someone pick Australia and not want to go scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef? I learned to scuba dive when I was a kid and we lived in Key Largo…it’s been a very, very long time, so I’d have to relearn. But there is nothing like it; if you’ve never been, it’s hard to imagine how bright and colorful and teeming with life reefs are. And there’s a very soothing sound to them. The only way I’ve ever been able to describe it is like someone put Rice Crispies in the ocean; you can hear this crackling sound that as a kid I was convinced was the sound of coral growing.
ACS: Scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef would be fabulous! So much beauty to see there. Thank you again for stopping by. It was so much fun!
JS: Thank you so much for having me! That was a lot of fun!

Blurb:
Wren is one of “the gifted”—a college sophomore with the power to compel others’ feelings and desires. He uses his power as a game of sexual consent until Cameron, a naïve freshman, enters his life. As Cameron begins to understand his sexuality and gain confidence under Wren’s tutelage, Wren grows to recognize new and unexpected things about himself. Can their game become a relationship as the power shifts from teacher to student?

Excerpt:
Wren looks… different. His eyes are wide in what seems almost like surprise. His lips, darker than Cam’s ever seen them, tremble. Cam doesn’t need any of Wren’s abilities to catch that Wren is overwhelmed. The only thing Cam knows how to offer is what he himself would want.

“Kiss me?” he asks.

Beautifully, Wren doesn’t resist. His clothes are rough against Cam’s skin all those zippers are so cold where Cam radiates heat. When Wren drapes himself on top of Cam, his body is heavier than Cam had imagined. Wren kisses Cam softly, seeking something, and Cam wants to believe it’s from a feeling of closeness, something sweet like the gratitude he feels right now. He cannot believe he just did that—that he let Wren do that. Hulled and shaking, Cam lets his hands wander because even after that perfect storm of pleasure, there is an itch under his skin for more.

  3. […] Amanda C. Stone’s interview was great! Who would I be as a superhero? (Dame Decisive. I talk about her a little more). Who would be a stripper at my birthday party? If I didn’t die of embarassment, of course the answer would be a tossup between Matt Bomer and Natalie Dormer. There are other great questions, read on for fun answers! […]
