Morticia Knight’s All Fired Up

Y’all should know that the excerpt from All Fired Up that I have on my blog today is amazing. It’s also an excerpt that you can only read here. Morticia Knight’s newest book is out now and you won’t want to miss it. A cop and a firefighter? Two guys in uniform together? Right up my alley. I cannot wait to read this book. Below read all about the book and the exclusive excerpt you won’t be able to read anywhere else. At the very bottom be sure to enter for a chance to win an Amazon gift card and a signed copy of the book! One of the scavenger hunt facts is in my blog. Don’t miss it!

Blurb:
Officer Shawn Everly patrols the Strip and one night, fireman Trent Marshall saves him when danger strikes. But it’s still uncertain whether Trent can save himself from getting his heart broken by Shawn.

The party never ends on the Las Vegas strip but neither does the danger. Officer Everly is new to the beat, having recently relocated to Vegas from Los Angeles. Foot patrol on the Strip is a demanding assignment because he’s up close and personal with the public. But what he’d really like to do is get up close and personal with Station 32’s hunky fireman, Trent Marshall.

Trent has been a fireman for over ten years and is dedicated to his job. He’s built tough and is a no-nonsense man of few words. At a local blood drive, Trent meets the handsome new officer on foot patrol but won’t let himself get too close. He’s lost love before when his policeman lover was killed in the line of fire.

During an emergency, Trent’s over-protective instincts kick in when he believes Shawn is in harm’s way. He ends up embarrassing and angering Shawn in front of their fellow officers, which seems as though it will end any hope of Trent having a chance with the young man he can’t push from his mind. Shawn can’t decide whether he wants to punch or kiss Trent. Kissing wins. Once they spend some time together away from the stresses of their jobs, they find that they’re not just compatible—they’re combustible.

But Trent can’t seem to accept that there are hazards that come with working in law enforcement. Right as they’re discovering how much they mean to one another, the danger escalates on the Strip. The underground vigilante group, The Citizens Against Immorality, have raised the stakes. Will Shawn and Trent be their next targets?

Excerpt:
Shawn already had everything out, but Trent insisted he have another fifteen minutes with the ice before they took off. He said it would give him time to get Shawn’s things packed up. There was a brief argument when Shawn insisted on directing him on what he needed by following him into the bedroom. Most of it revolved around whether Shawn would use the crutches or be carried. The crutches won the first round.

“Briefs in the top drawer on the left. Socks on the right. Any of the tees in the drawer below are fine.”

Trent had been efficiently opening and closing drawers, grabbing items as he went and stuffing them into a large overnight tote.

“Sweats and shorts would be the easiest with the wrap – those are on the bottom.” He thought of something and his eyes widened in horror. “Wait!”

It was obviously too late. He covered his face. The heat in his skin was so strong it warmed the palm of his hand. He refused to look.

“Shawn? You bringing this?”

He parted his fingers to see Trent holding up his dildo. His rather large dildo. It hadn’t seen any action in a while so he’d forgotten about it. Dropping his hand in resignation, he sighed.

“You asked. Wow. That’s a first.”

“In that case…”

Trent dropped it in the bag. He shot up his eyebrows. That wasn’t what he’d expected Trent to do. Learning about someone new was all kinds of fun. Trent reached back in the drawer and pulled out a couple of his porn DVDs.

“I’ll leave these behind. You’ll be taken care of.”

Perfect. He was hard.

Trent lifted the corner of his mouth in a smirk. “We should get you out of here. Might be a good idea to get you in my bed as soon as possible.” Trent’s expression became serious. “Maybe not.”

“Are you kidding? That’s evil.”

Walking over, Trent then stood next to him where he reclined on the bed, his leg propped up. Trent carded his fingers through his hair.

“I’m worried about your knee.”

“We’ll wrap the shit out of it and avoid doggy style.”

He could practically see the wheels turning in Trent’s head. “I could ride you.”

“You…Where did that come from? Not that…you know…I’m against it.”

Trent grunted. “You could lie on your back, not have to bend your knee.”

The man had a point. However, he was also adding to his arousal agony.

“Yeah, good plan. Can we go now?”

Leaning over, Trent planted a firm kiss on his lips.

“Let me get the rest of your things.”

There was a nice quirk at the corners of Trent’s mouth as he rose and gazed into his eyes. His questioning thoughts from earlier were erased by what he saw in those eyes. There was no doubt in his mind that there was a true connection between them. Where it would take them he wasn’t completely sure, but he was hopeful. Really hopeful.

About Morticia:
M/M and M/M/F Erotic Romance author Morticia Knight enjoys a good saucy tale – after all, who doesn’t? Since she loves several genres, you may find your heroes in a contemporary, historical, paranormal or sci-fi setting. One of her passions is bringing people’s fantasies to life on the page, because life is too short for even one boring moment. Her stories are volcanic in heat, deep in emotion, and sprinkled with doses of humor.

When not indulging in her obsession for books, she loves the outdoors, film and music. The Pacific Northwest is the ideal spot to enjoy both hiking and beachcombing. Once upon a time she was the singer in an indie rock band that toured the West Coast and charted on U.S. college radio. She now resides on the northern coast of Oregon, where the constant rain and fog remind her of visits to family in England and Scotland when she was a child.

She is currently working on the Sin City Uniforms Series and a BDSM spin-off to the Gin & Jazz series entitled The Hampton Road Club. A follow-up to Bryan and Aubrey’s story in Rockin’ the Alternative will be available in 2015.
