Silvia Violet’s Burning Up

It’s no major surprise that with Silvia Violet’s new book I pushed and shoved people out of the way to get her on my blog. I’d apologize but I truly don’t feel bad since she’s an auto-buy for me. If you haven’t read anything of hers yet, you definitely need to. Her latest book Burning Up is the third in one of my favorite series by her, Fitting In. This one you can read by itself but the rest of the series is wonderful. Today she joins me to share a bit about Mason, Jack and Gray, the guys from the first two Fitting In books. After the totally hot scene that will leave you wanting more, read all about the book and an excerpt you will love. At the very bottom enter for a chance to win an Amazon or ARe gift card.

Hi everyone! Amanda asked me to share a short scene of Jack, Mason, and Gray (the heroes of Fitting In 1 and 2) celebrating Valentine’s Day so here goes….

Jack finished icing the heart-shaped cake and scattered red, white, and pink sprinkles over the rich, chocolate icing. Gray was going to laugh at it, but he’d eat it. He’d never known Gray to turn down a piece of cake. The fact that this cake had romantic sap written all over it wouldn’t deter him. He’d spotted the heart-shaped pan while shopping for cannoli forms as a gift for Henry and bought it on a whim, thinking it would be a fun wrap up to Valentine dinner he had planned for Mason and Gray.

Gray had requested Jack’s lasagna because it was his favorite and Mason had voted for chocolate cake. Technically, the next day was Valentine’s Day but they were having a celebratory dinner that night, because Mason had gotten them tickets for a day of snow tubing and reserved a mountain cabin for Valentine’s night. So if—fingers crossed—Gray didn’t land a big case, they were heading up the to mountains in the morning.

Gray had insinuated he had a surprise for them, but he hadn’t given any further hints. He and Mason were due home soon. The lasagna was assembled and just needed to bake. He’d chopped all the veggies for a salad that Mason would enjoy and Gray would eat grudgingly. Garlic bread could be prepared at the last minute. All Jack had to do now was wait for him men.

He settled on the couch and flicked on the TV. Mason came in and joined him a few minutes later. Gray walked through the door as they were finishing an episode of Star Trek Voyager. He let his gaze roam over Jack and Mason and gave a evil smile, the kind that spelled trouble of the best kind.

“I’m assuming we have some time before dinner’s ready.”

Jack nodded slowly, his cock already getting hard. “I can start the lasagna any time.”

“Good. I thought giving you these tomorrow.” He held up two small, white paper bags and shook them. “But I decided I didn’t want to wait.”

“We don’t want to wait either,” Mason said, sitting up and grabbing the remote so he could turn off the TV.

Jack swallowed hard and nodded.

“Strip,” Grey commanded. “You can open your presents when you’re naked.”

Jack’s heart pounded and he heard Mason’s quick intake of breath. Both of them scrambled to obey. When they were naked, Gray waved a hand toward the hall. “Bedroom. Both of you.”

Jack practically ran and Mason was right behind him.

“Up on the bed,” Gray ordered.

When Jack and Mason were both kneeling on the bed, he handed each of them a bag. Jack’s hand shook as he tried to release the staple holding down the folded top. Finally, he gave up and ripped the bag. At first, he wasn’t sure what he was looking at; then realization dawned. He glanced at Mason’s gift. It was identical except it was magenta instead of red.

Jack swallowed hard. “Are these really….?”

Gray nodded, grinning.

“Heart shaped anal beads?” Mason asked.

Gray’s cheeks flushed, but he nodded again. Surely he didn’t doubt that Jack and Mason were going to love their toys. Jack looked back down at his. It was made of a series of graduated hearts arranged along a slim stick. They went from small to quite large. The handle on the end was also heart-shaped. “And I thought you were going to laugh at my heart-shaped cake.”

Gray chuckled “I still might. But I promise, you won’t be laughing once I get these in you.”

Fuck.

“Let’s find out,” Mason challenged.

“You hoping to be spanked first.”

Mason fondled the thickest of the magenta hearts. “Whatever you like, sir.”

Jack smiled at his lovers. This was going to be the best Valentine’s Day ever.

For now, you have to let your imaginations run wild about what Gray does to them, but I will be including an expanded version of this scene in Fitting In 4.

Blurb:
Bryce has been a firefighter for ten years, but when a horrific house fire leaves him reeling, he moves to a new city, hoping to shove those memories behind him. As he adjusts to his new station, Bryce keeps to himself until Matt and Toby, two hot young men in his unit, throw temptation in his path. Bryce knows better than to mess around with men he works with, especially two newbies who are in the closet. But after a difficult day, Matt and Toby offer him compassion and friendship, which slips so easily into sex Bryce finds the combination irresistible.

Matt and Toby want to expand their relationship to include a third, and they’ve set their sights on their sexy bear of a lieutenant. Their first night together is a scorcher, and, more than that, it feels right, to all of them. But since Bryce refuses to hide who he is, and dating men on his shift is against the rules, all three men are going to have to make some tough choices if they want to stay together.

Excerpt:
“They’re watching you again,” Mason spoke in a low voice as he whizzed past Bryce, carrying drinks to the opposite end of the bar.

“You’re imagining things again.” Ever since Mason swore that Toby and Matt, who’d become regulars at the bar after Bryce started working there, were gay and interested in Bryce, he’d been teasing Bryce about their interest.

Bryce told himself not to look, but he couldn’t help glancing toward the corner booth where they always preferred to sit before going back to wiping down the bar. Did they sit there because it gave them a good view of the bar? Bryce scowled. No way in hell were his hands shaking. No way in hell was he letting himself get his hopes up. Even if they were gay, even if they were interested in him, starting something with two guys from work would be the pinnacle of idiocy. Hell, getting involved with more than one guy was insane from the start. Just because Mason and his boyfriends had made a threesome work didn’t make it realistic for Bryce. There was an exception to every rule.

“You’re wrong,” Bryce said as he passed Mason on his way to take a customer’s order.

Mason snorted in reply.

Bryce was glad to see the bar was filling up. He did not need to spend the next hour telling himself not to look at Toby and Matt. He did plenty of that at the firehouse. Toby’s smile could heat up and entire room and Bryce never wanted to look away from it, unless it was to contemplate running his hands through Matt’s wavy brown hair while staring into his dark eyes.

But if Mason was right and they were gay, maybe they really were lovers. If so, he had no business approaching them, whether they were watching him or not. Just because they liked to look didn’t mean they wanted to play. They didn’t need him fucking up whatever they had going.

Plus, they worked together. They were a team, with people’s lives on the line.

The line at the bar grew long, and Bryce got busy taking orders, making drinks, and ringing people up at the register. When things finally slowed down, he needed a bathroom break. As he headed to the back, he noticed Matt and Toby playing pool with a couple of guys he recognized as regulars. Toby waved and he waved back, hating the way his pulse accelerated. What the hell was wrong with him?

He pushed open the door of the restroom but failed to check his instinct to glance back over his shoulder. Toby’s eyes were glued to his ass. There was no doubt about it this time. He whirled back around before their gazes had a chance to meet.

So Toby wasn’t straight. Bryce had to admit that now. He was gay or at least bi, but he was just appreciating the scenery. That didn’t mean anything. Bryce appreciated guys’ asses all the time.

When Bryce left the bathroom, Toby and Matt were leaning in close, talking, arguing actually based on the angry expressions on their faces. Bryce hurried back to work, glad he didn’t have to decide whether to speak to them or not. Several minutes later, Toby appeared at the bar. Mason, the little bastard, wasn’t busy, but he made no move to take Toby’s order.

“What can I get you?” Bryce asked.

“Just cashing out our tab.” Our? Maybe Toby was just buying that night.

“Sure.” Bryce looked Toby’s name up in the register, ran his card, and handed him the receipt to sign.

“Thanks,” Toby said, flashing a smile that made his eyes twinkle. How was it that he made that single word sound flirtatious? Bryce was supposed to be the one who flirted, the one in control of a situation, but despite Toby being so much younger, Bryce ended up flustered every time they spoke.
