Mimsy Hale’s 100 Days

Today I’m excited to have Mimsy Hale join me with her newest book 100 Days. She joins me today for a fun interview that I hope you enjoy. After the interview read all about this wonderful book I can’t wait to read, along with an excerpt that will make you want to read to find out what happens next. at the very bottom enter for a chance to win an Interlude Press gift card and one of five copies of the book.

Amanda C. Stone: Good morning, Mimsy! I’m so glad you could join me today.
Mimsy Hale: Hi, Amanda! Thanks so much for having me!
ACS: You’re going to a naughty costume party, what do you go as?
MH: If I was to go to a naughty costume party, I’d be dressed up to the nines in burlesque gear—I’ve got a bit of a thing for Dita Von Teese!
ACS: Oooh, that would be a fun costume! If you could snap your fingers and have an invention to do anything you want, what would you want it to do?
MH: I think I speak for many writers when I say that I’d love a brain-to-computer translator! Either that or the Quick Quotes Quill from Harry Potter!
ACS: I know I’d use the brain-to-computer translator pretty regularly if it existed. You are traveling with The Doctor. Would you visit the past or the future?
MH: I think I’d visit the past. It’d be pretty neat to see the Big Bang!
ACS: Ah, all the way back to the beginning, huh? That would be very interesting to see. You are on a deserted island and can have only one book with you. What book would it be?
MH: If I was reading for utility, it’d definitely have to be a deserted island survival guide of some sort—I’m pretty useless without instructions! But if I was reading for pleasure, I’d be wearing out my copy of Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden.
ACS: I truly enjoyed Memoirs of a Geisha. It was a lovely book. Anyone can buy the rights to name a star. What would you name a star bought for you?
MH: I’d name my star Grace, because I’ve been blessed with a lot of grace in my life over the past couple of years!
ACS: Thank you so much for stopping by! I loved having you.

Blurb:
Jake and Aiden have been best friends—and nothing more—since the age of six.  Now 22-year-old college graduates, they take a road trip around the USA, visiting every state in 100 days.

As they start their cross-country odyssey, Jake and Aiden think they have their journey and their futures mapped out. But the road has a funny way of changing course.

Fifty states. Two boys. One love story.

Excerpt:
Because anything really could happen, couldn’t it? What if what happened in Philadelphia wasn’t a total mistake, but simply the prelude to Jake finally listening to what his instincts have been telling him for weeks? What if, what if, what if…

“What are you doing? Come see this!” Aiden calls out.

Jake takes a deep breath and steps out of the shadows. Aiden is silhouetted against the fading sun, the light picking out the auburn in his hair, and as he stretches his arms up over his head, one finger hooked through the woven bracelet he bought earlier, he grins out at the horizon. Jake feels as if he’s watching Aiden through brand new eyes; he knows that there is rescue in those arms. Suddenly he wants to fall into them and hold on until he feels safe.

Aiden turns away from the vista, pushes his sunglasses up on top of his head and looks down at Jake, his eyes sparkling with warmth and light. He leans forward and holds out his hand, and he looks… beautiful.
